Did you try a mobile browser?
You say it doesn't let you input it. Does it give you an error? or not show?
I have tried mobile phone and also Chrike and safari desktop browsers. The characters will simply not enter into that field when typed. I have even attempted to copy and paste the full string and it pastes but omits the special characters
