Orbi RBR840 stopped connecting to internet
We have Cox as our ISP. We have started having internet issues over the past month. Our initial setup was cox compatible personal modem and my Orbi RBR840 mesh system. I had never had any issues with this setup before.
1st issue: our internet went out. After many days I was told our modem was “old”. Even though the specifications were better than what the other options were and it had be working just fine. So I bought a new modem that was on their list from Walmart.
This worked for 24 hrs then stopped working.
Another few days passed bc I thought out outside cable line had be cut due to landscape work.
The ISP came out and everything was fine with the wire.
For there I got a modem directly from cox and connected it to my Orbi… still no internet connection.
I then just went and got the Cox Panoramic Gateway and used it as the modem and router. It works just fine. But I really am missing the coverage that the Orbi mesh provided to our property.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR📡 and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.Factory reset and setup from scratch using the following process: I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
