ORBI RBR850: does adding custom port forwarding force a restart?
As the subject says, I need to add a custom port forwarding rule. How to do this is very easy and straightforward. However, I can't incur a network outage that would result if the Orbi restarts after setting the rule.
I haven't been able to find online if clicking 'Apply' after setting up the rule will restart the device or not.
Anyone know for sure if the RBR850 will reboot itself when I apply that rule?
Thanks!

On my RBR50 Orbi, Port forwarding does not have an "Apply" button. I just added several ports (and then deleted them). The router did not reboot.
My general observation is that "Apply" buttons quite often result in a dramatic pause.(complete with whirling icon). I do not know if this interrupts any internet connections that are already set up. (Good thing to experiment on, maybe)
If you have the "Apply" button, descretion may be the better part of valor.

Yeah, as per my top post, the 'Apply' button shows up when you go to add a custom port forward rule (ie. not just one of the pre-defined services). I'm guessing that's why you didn't see it.
As a follow-up, once I was able to safely add the custom rule (when a reboot wouldn't disrupt critical services), no reboot followed. Good to know for future reference. :)
