Which specific Schlage lock? (They have SO many.)
Generally, Internet of Things (IoT) devices have WiFi radios that detect only 2.4G channels. They are totally unaware of and cannot be affected by other radio signals (5G WiFi, television, portable phones, AM/FM radio.)
Sometimes door locks are not "in a great location" in terms of WiFi signal. One solution is to install an inexpensive WiFi Extender that will connect to the home WiFi and create a 2.4G WiFi signal specifically for the IoT device. (often under $20 on Amazon). If the extender is located with a clear line of sight to the lock mechanism, it may stay connected more easily.
