No progress so far.
I asked Optimum (my ISP) to switch me to bridge mode. They were unable to do so. They were also unable to turn off the WIFI radios on their modem.
I also tried to go into AP mode but did not have an internet connection at all when I did that.
I am starting to lose hope.
Thanks

ISP couldn't set bridge or disable wifi radios...you might ask for escalated suppport for help with there modem...or ask the ISP if there is a modem only option that you can used instead of this gateway modem you currently have.

Nothing besides the gateway option exists at 1gigabit and the third party modems at that speed without gateway dont have the VOip function for telephones. Right now I'm going to try to switch to AP Mode and see what happens.

AP mode should work then...

I have switched to AP Mode but now have a few questions.
I now have two wifi networks: the one coming off the gateway (network 1) and the one coming off the Orbi router (network 2).
Do I need to turn off the network 2 frequencies? I am assuming that if the orbi is in AP mode - and ethernet connected to a switch - which is ethernet connected to the gateway router then the orbi router and satellite will both broadcast the network 1 frequency with no data loss? Is that correct?
Also, will there be data loss from the 1gig modem to the 1 gig orbi router set to satellite if they are both connected via ethernet? Please advise.
Thanks.
