Pausing devices on Orbi RBK753S AX4200

Hi, I see there are connected devices in my Orbi app as well as the Pause button which logically suggests that by pausing, it will block that device from the internet. That doesn't seem to work. I pause my smart TV which is connected to wifi, and it still streams TV perfectly fine. What in the world am I missing? 

The internet is Comcast and goes Comcast -> Motorola model (owned) -> Orbi -> Orbi satellites.

Bottom line is that I need to be able to pause devices on the fly. How do I do this?
