Proper WPS Sequence for Orbi RBK853 - Struggling

Question

Hi all, been a while.&nbsp;Have am having issues trying to get our Miele wifi enabled kitchen goods connected to our Orbi RBK853.&nbsp;It worked once (and worked solid) but in trying to make settings on the Miele device, I screwed it up and have not been able to get back to a connected device.&nbsp;The first time I pressed the WPS button on the side of the RBK853 router and it worked perfect. But I cannot recall the sequence or how long to press for?Also can you do WPS from one of the satellites? There is one closer&nbsp; to the Miele device .... just 2 meters away which should be even more effective&nbsp;Also should I press the WPS button on the Miele first or the Orbi?&nbsp;Having had a bit of luck, I've lost my way on this one. I've reset the entire machine on the Miele side and their app and NW processes are clunky to say the least. But I just want to be sure I'm doing precisely the right thing on the Orbi side (which works great 99.9% of the time) so that I can drill down on the Miele side where I suspect the core of the issue is.&nbsp;Any procedural details to make I'm doing things right would be appreciated.&nbsp;Many thanks

Thanks for sending the link. Appreciated.

Unfortunately it's a little light on details that can help eliminate if I'm getting things wrong at the router side or the appliance side. For example, is it just a quick press of the sync button? Or do you need hold it in for a time? Other Netgear devices ask you to press for 2 seconds etc.

Also it does not clarify if you can do this from the satellite device or if it must be the core router?

It's also unclear if you press the button on the router first or the device you are trying to link, then the router.

I have done it before and should remember but just trying to eliminate silly messed up steps or if I have a more challenging issue

Try a quick press and if that doesn't work, try pressing the button for 2 seconds and see if that works.&nbsp;

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) has been a feature of WiFi access points since 2006.*

WPS should work with an WiFi access point, whether it is called a "router" or "satellite". (or a random WiFi Extender purchased off Amazon for $25.)

I would use WPS to connect to the nearest Orbi unit.&nbsp; Press the WPS button on the WiFi unit first (to indicate "I am ready for a connection"), then press WPS on the device.&nbsp; As the User Manual indicated, some devices lack a physical WPS button and have some other means.&nbsp; I have seen printers that offer WPS as a selection on their setup screens (no actual button).

I believe the length of the press is not significant.&nbsp; Most WPS buttons will make a "clicking sound" or have a tactile feel to indicate that the button was pressed hard enough.

Fortunately, a failed WPS attempt is only frustrating, not harmful.

* As the Wikipedia article points out, the original WPS feature included a numeric key that could be entered to connect devices. That method is no longer supported on modern WiFi systems.

Thanks for answering that one.&nbsp;I have used WPS on devices before but strangely not on the Orbi that I recall.&nbsp;Good that you can do on the satellite ....&nbsp; avoids a lengthy walk and reach every frustrating time I try connect the Miele. So weird that it worked first time and never since. Is why I was doubting my approach. But given your comments and kind advice, I'm quite convinced I'm doing the Orbi WPS procedure correctly and the issue resides in the corner of the device I'm trying connect.&nbsp;All my Orbi is up to date and ordinarily works a treat ... inside, outside, in the shed....everywhere.&nbsp;&nbsp;I'll come back with hopefully the solution soon as I hear from Miele tech support.&nbsp;Many thanks again
