Additional information would be useful.
- Is there a computer in the house that can be connected directly to the Xfinity modem? (This requires an Ethernet connection, which many of the latest laptops no longer contain. I have some Ethernet to USB adapters from Amazon which I use to connect tablets and phones to Ethernet for testing.)
- How is this Orbi system managed? (using the web browser interface or the Orbi 'app'?)
- What is the specific model number of the router? (found on the product label on the bottom of the case). When companies manufacture WiFi routers, they try to ensure that neighbors do not accidentally install systems with the same default WiFi 'name' by giving each system a "sort of unique" name at the factory. Netgear uses the letters "O-R-B-I" plus a two digit number, such as ORBI67. (Other companies have similar strategies.)
- How is the internet speed being measured? Reported by the Orbi system? Using a device connected to the system?
- Is this new lower speed consistent? i.e. measurements taken over several hours are similar?
