I am actually using a iPhone 12 Pro Max and I new MacBook Pro - so both are capable of 4x4.

any idea about the missing enable ax mode checkbox ?

I don't think the 12 is 4x4 supporting...only 2x2

 

What connection rates are you seeing these devices connected at the RBR?

    the MacBook Pro states 907 Mbits TX rate (channel 40 80 MHZ)

      Ok. The Mac Book should connect a bit higher then that. I see 1300Mpbs on my MBP 2018 however it only supports up to AC mode.
