RBK753 Port forwarding not working from LAN hosts
Hi, I just installed Orbi RBK753 in router mode. There is no router in front of it and the netgear router is directly connected to WAN. I have setup port forwarding to forward https (port 443) to...

Hi Orbira,
I have had no issues with port forwarding at all before and after the hot-fix. The hot-fix firmware which is for the router only has definitely resolved my NAT loopback issue with the RBK852 satellite.
I have DM'ed you with my case number.
Good luck!

Per the article Which NETGEAR Routers support NAT Loopback, RBR750 is listed there.
Orbi products:
- RBR850
- RBR750
- RBR50v2
- RBR50v1
- RBR40
- RBR20
- RBR10
In any case, this is a big showstopper as I cannot connect to my WebDAV server from my phones/other machines and for me to be able to access them from outside or within LAN, this has to be functional :(. I have opened a support ticket with NETGEAR, let's see what they say.
Thanks

Does it work if you try forwarding a different port than 443 from the WAN IP (still forwarded to 443 on your internal NAS host)? There have been issues with certain standard port numbers and I'm surprised 443 works at all.
- orbiraSep 01, 2020ApprenticeI have many other ports forwarded other than 443. I used 443 just as an example. The other port I tried was 22 (ssh). From an outside machine I can connect just fine ensuring port forwarding is setup right. However from with the LAN, the connection just hangs. Looking at orbi router logs external connection gets logged. Attempt from inside doesn’t even gets logged.
I will try some random port as well just to ensure if port 22 is also defined port.

I have the same problem on my RBK 852 which I posted earlier.
I logged the call 2 days ago with support and it has been escalated to level 3. Apparently, there is a hot-fix about to be launched for the RBK752 to remedy this NAT loopback issue and they are also waiting for feedback from firmware engineering whether this hot-fix will be compatible with the RBK852 or not. (They are very similar in setup)
I have tried assigning and forwarding different port numbers and this did not help. This seems to be purely a NAT loopback issue which is not fully supported and is contradictory as to what is specified and advertised by Netgear. Very frustrating to say in the least!

I absolutely agreee that routers worth 1000 dollars go how little testing. I am in really bad situation. If I leave the Verizon router in front of the Orbi (to have the port forwarding working seemlessly), then in AP mode the satellites are not syncing to the router and Netgear support very conveniently said in AP mode satellites are not supported and if I take the Verizon router out, port forwarding doesn't work. My bad I got rid of my original RBK53S before completely testing this so Ican't even go back.
I also have the support ticket open and is being escalated.
Thanks
