RBK763S SSID

I just installed a new ORBI RBK763S.  WHen setting it up, I learned that Netgear removed the option to hide the SSID.  Why did they do that?  Hidden SSID is just another layer of protection and security from prying eyes.  It does not make sense that they removed this capability.  Is there any work around to this?  Is this only for my ORBI RBK763S?  or is it true with all the newer ORBI's.  I had an older ORBI RBR50 and it had the option of hiding the SSID.

    All Orbi AX systems never had the hidden SSID feature. It's never been supported. 

    And actually it doesn't provide any extra layer from prying eyes. A good wifi scanner can still pickup hidden SSIDs.
