If by "separate the 2.4G and 5G" you mean assign different WiFi SSIDs to them, then no. Orbi routers do not support this.

There are only two 80MHz wide groups of 5G channels available in North America, 36-48 and 149-161. Orbis use the lower frequency for user facing channels and the upper group for the connection between router and satellites ("backhaul").

And, yes. that group of channels is extremely congested.
As a point of interest, selecting a specific 5G channel means that the Management Frames used by the router will be on that single 20MHz wide channel. The router still uses channels 36-48 if they are open in order to maximize transmission speed.

If you have a area thats is congested with nieghboring wifi, try turning down the power output of the RBRs wifi radios from 100% to 50% and see if this changes anything. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.- madgerNov 27, 2022Tutor
My house is 1700, main router is centered, the satellites are at opposite ends of the house, 30ft each from main at least also through a couple of walls, the system works great, coverage is great, im just used to nighthawk routers. i changed from a raxe500 to this this orbi mainly for the 10gig input.
