It is not clear (to me) that the power LED flashing orange is a requirement to flash firmware. I have not done this for a while, so my memory is a bit fuzzy. I recall that using TFTP was timing sensitive. Starting the TFTP transfer a second too soon, or a second too late, and it failed.

Notice that (unlike the Netgear instructions for TFTP) the instructions for this program make no mention of the power LED light.
I am not optimistic that even nmrpflash will succeed because I fear that the ISP doctored the firmware to make it refuse to load stock firmware.
