Ping is mostly 8 ms. By the way… my Orbi is not staying connected. This is new. Never seen this before. I did a power cycle earlier to try to fix the ping. Once it connected back up all was fine but tonight now it keeps disconnecting. Any ideas?

I think my Orbi may be shot. It keeps going offline.

I’ve posted here a lot and I’m dreadfully sorry for bothering everyone but it seems my Orbi system has but the dust. I’m sure I didn’t help things but the amount of power cycles I did just because something odd happened weather it was a speed issue or the latest… the ping on wifi. Last night as I was about to go to sleep I was listening to a podcast and all of a sudden I saw a notification on my iPhone that said that I was no longer using the wifi and that it could keep trying or I could use LTE. I opted to keep trying and I then tried to sleep. After a bit of not being able to sleep I got the notification again so I got up and came into the room where the main unit is. I saw the magenta light. I looked over at my Fiber modem and saw that it looked to be performing correctly. All the lights that were supposed to be on was. Also, the one that shows connectivity was blinking as it always does so I didn’t figure the problem was there. Nevertheless I did I power cycle on both. After unplugging the Router and the modem I went to the 1 satellite Orbi I have and unplugged it too. I figured by that time that enough time had elapsed so I went back and plugged the fiber modem back in first and I let it boot up. All the lights came back on so I plugged the Orbi Router back in. Took longer than normal but it came back too. Went back to bed and it happened again. Notifications on my phone. By this time I was exhausted. I gave up until this morning. Did yet another power cycle around 6 am. Still frequently disconnecting. I think its time to shop for a new one. Need a main Orbi and just 1 satellite. My home is only about 1,500 square feet. What model would you all recommend??
Thanks in advance and again… I’m sorry for posting so frequently. You all have been wonderful to me. I very much appreciate that. 😀- muusicmanNov 18, 2023Aspirant
So, I ordered a new one. It will be here today. Hopefully it’ll not kick me offline like the current one I have is doing. I definitely think it’s the Router because my fiber modem seems to be running correctly. 3 solid lights and 1 light is blinking. That’s what it’s always done. I just want my connection to be consistent. Seems to drop a lot now. If I do anything, after a bit I get the magenta light. It goes off after a while but takes a long time. Hoping a brand new Orbi will fix it.

I’ve been experiencing this for about 4 days now. It’s about the internet dropping from his wifi. He said it doesn’t happen on his wired devices. I haven’t checked mine yet to see if it’s only a wifi issue. I’d love to talk to him though.
I have the exact same router and satellite.
