RBR wouldn't list it as a SATELLITE
I'm not rebooting ORBIs, I'm rebooting router because I need to clear some sessions/stats for business reasons.
I've factory reset the RBS multiple times in the past three hours because RBR wouldn'...

How is the RBS and RBR being updated?
Are you updating the RBR first or lastly?
Is the RBS directly connected to the RBR or is there a LAN switch in between. If there is a switch, brand and model please.
Be sure your using good quality LAN cable, CAT6 is recommended.
What browser are you using?
How are you factory resetting the RBR and RBS?
When the RBS is fully synced, the front LED will turn BLUE for about 3 minutes, then turn OFF. Magenta means is couldn't sync. AMBER maybe seen during a long press of the reset button. Other that Blinking WHITE, theres no other front LED colors needed.
I've tested this version out on my 8 series and saw now issues like this. System ran great.
Also RBS are ethernet connected using NG GS105/108 and a GS308 series non managed switches.

FURRYe38 Don't worry about this thread (it should have been an answer in the New - RBR850 / RBS850 Firmware Version 7.2.6.21 Re... thread not a new one).
To answer some of your questions i know the meaning of the led colors (i own an orbi mesh system since 2017):
reset RBS -> amber led on the back -> white pulsing led on the front -> wait -> wait -> wait -> solid white led on the front -> press sync button on the back -> pulsing white led on the front -> press "SYNC" button on the web interface "Add satellite" -> pulsing white led on the RBR -> wait -> wait -> pulsing blue led on satellite -> "Satellite synced successfully" on the RBR web interface -> more waiting -> even more waiting ... led on satellite is off -> everything should be OK but under firmware 7xxx Satellite was listed as a "normal" device NOT under "Connected satellites".
When updating to 7xxx satellite was updated before the RBR.
When i first updated my mesh system everything was fine but 2 days later (this morning) satellite was unable to "forward" DHCP requests to clients ... it was "out of sync" although connection in the RBR web interface was GOOD

How long are you pressing the reset button for? 15 seconds is recommended.
When I reset the RBR, I use the ERASE button in the web UI.

It really doesn't matter it was wireless connected, then it was wired directly back to back and now there is a switch in between (TP-Link-TL-SG105E). It worked for 2,5 years with the same switch without trouble ...

15 to 20 seconds

I don't do it always i reset RBR only when i'm the only one using the network and as a last resort

That switch is a smart switch and also has green ethernet features which has been know to cause problems in the past. Possible new FW may have made that incompatible. Any WEB UI adjustments on this switch that you can disable Green Ethernet to test this?
I recommend if you can't get the RBS to sync correctly, Factory reset the RBR AND RBS, when you get the system alone. Have the RBS in the same room as the RBR. Setup the RBR first, walk thru the setup wizard using web browser here. Clear browser caches before starting the setup wizard. Use MS Edge. Leave the default SSID name and password for now. Once the RBR is setup, sync the RBS wirelessly to the RBR. (One item I noticed with mine, if I FR the RBR and RBS and leave the RBR and RBS alone, the RBS will auto sync to the RBRs default SSID and PW here. I can then walk thru the setup wizard and it will see and detect the RBS during this routine. You can try this or>) Use the RBRs Add Satellite menu fuction to do this. Follow the sync steps here. Once the RBS syncs to the RBR, check the RBRs web page here to see if it shows being connected as a RBS and not a different device. Wireless status should appear and should show as GOOD. Check the LED on the RBS. Should be BLUE here for several minutes. Then turn OFF. Once it turns OFF, connect a ethernet patch cable between the RBS and RBR while it's in the same room. Front LED should turn ON again, I think BLUE is connection is good. Check the RBRs web page every so often. The connection status should change to wired and still be GOOD in with about 1 minute.
If you can get to this point, then change the SSID name and password for your needs. Apply the change. RBS should make the change as well. Log into it's web page and check the status on it's web page as well. If it's still good at this point, power OFF the RBS and put back in remote location. Check its status after 5 minutes on the RBR.
