RBR wouldn't list it as a SATELLITE
I'm not rebooting ORBIs, I'm rebooting router because I need to clear some sessions/stats for business reasons.
I've factory reset the RBS multiple times in the past three hours because RBR wouldn'...

That switch is a smart switch and also has green ethernet features which has been know to cause problems in the past. Possible new FW may have made that incompatible. Any WEB UI adjustments on this switch that you can disable Green Ethernet to test this?
I recommend if you can't get the RBS to sync correctly, Factory reset the RBR AND RBS, when you get the system alone. Have the RBS in the same room as the RBR. Setup the RBR first, walk thru the setup wizard using web browser here. Clear browser caches before starting the setup wizard. Use MS Edge. Leave the default SSID name and password for now. Once the RBR is setup, sync the RBS wirelessly to the RBR. (One item I noticed with mine, if I FR the RBR and RBS and leave the RBR and RBS alone, the RBS will auto sync to the RBRs default SSID and PW here. I can then walk thru the setup wizard and it will see and detect the RBS during this routine. You can try this or>) Use the RBRs Add Satellite menu fuction to do this. Follow the sync steps here. Once the RBS syncs to the RBR, check the RBRs web page here to see if it shows being connected as a RBS and not a different device. Wireless status should appear and should show as GOOD. Check the LED on the RBS. Should be BLUE here for several minutes. Then turn OFF. Once it turns OFF, connect a ethernet patch cable between the RBS and RBR while it's in the same room. Front LED should turn ON again, I think BLUE is connection is good. Check the RBRs web page every so often. The connection status should change to wired and still be GOOD in with about 1 minute.
If you can get to this point, then change the SSID name and password for your needs. Apply the change. RBS should make the change as well. Log into it's web page and check the status on it's web page as well. If it's still good at this point, power OFF the RBS and put back in remote location. Check its status after 5 minutes on the RBR.

Switch is not the problem ... I had trouble to sync the satellite while wireless connected and directly connected.
I'll try to update again and maybe this time also factory reset the RBR if I have some spare time the next days ... I hate spending my time (it's almost half past midnight here) debugging others work

FR will be needed.
Trust me, this version of FW has been vetted and tested well. We would have seen this in beta testing if it was a problem in FW. No body else reported seeing this issue in beta.

There is already another user reporting out of sync error in the firmware thread so either beta testing was done poorly or with not enough testers
I've update again to firmware 7xxx (it took me 2 hours 1 RBR ERASE and 2 RBS resets) and it is now running for 20 minutes ...
With the new firmware the RBR does not show the manually assigned IP (AP mode) in the dashboard:
During the various RBS reboots and syncs the RBS interface would cycle the 2.4 GHz SSID:
--------------------------------
--------------------------------
In the above states (both persisting for 15/20 minutes each and "resolved" by turning RBS off and trying to sync again) clients accessing the 5GHz network were unable to get an IP and connect to the SSID (KASA)

Just because one other and you has seen this still dosen't mean a FW issue. Others have been posting as well and theres IS working for them and others.
You have know idea. We did not see this in beta and would have called it if we did.
This is mine IN AP mode:
Lets focues on the issue here. You'll need to give the information posted a try.
There maybe a HW issue here. Something NG could look in to if you were to grab debug logs.
Seems to be working now for you after the FR and setup from scratch.
What is the Brand and Model# of the host router the RBR is connected too while in AP Mode?
