RBR50 to RBk854 migration

I currently have a RBR 50 with 6 satellites.  I have a big space and outdoor areas.  Last 6 weeks its started to fail.  Purple rings a plenty on satellites for no reason and lots of orange dots all of a sudden after 3 years of seamlessness.  The only satellite that never fails is the one connected via ethernet backhaul.....Im fed up trying to work from home.

I have a couple of RBW30s in bedrooms, an RBS 50, RBA 40, RBS 20 and an RBS 50Y Outdoors.

Ive purchased a RBK854 with 4 satellites.

Couple of questions Id be grateful for advice.

1. Any quirks I should know about in migrating.  Current plan is to name new syste with same SSID and password and pray.

2. Is there any way of fudging the outdoor RBS50Y to work with teh system since the upgrade doesnt have an outdoor (hopefully one is planned)

3. Is there any way of factory resetting the old system after migrating...why? in case I run into issues, the household gets angry and I have to plug the old one back up :D:D

Thanks in advance

    1. Any quirks I should know about in migrating.  Current plan is to name new syste with same SSID and password and pray. This is highly recommended. What I do is to configure the incomming system for same thing and get it set up while not connected to the ISP modem services. Get the new system setup. Once setup, Turn off all RBS from prior system, leave the old RBR ON then disconenct it from the ISP modem. Connect the new RBR to the isp modem and reboot or power off the modem then back ON after 30 seconds. Turn ON the new RBR and it should connect ok. Once the RBR is online, Power OFF the old RBR and then Power ON the new RBS 1 at a time. Your devices should auto migrate and connect.

    2. Is there any way of fudging the outdoor RBS50Y to work with teh system since the upgrade doesnt have an outdoor (hopefully one is planned) Preload the RBSY with the Extender Mode FW prior to bringing in the new system.

I'd make a back up configuration to file before taking the old system off line:

Saves time if a reset is needed.

    You can factory reset:

Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release

I would not reset the old system until you are sure the new system is working well.

Wow thank you.  I think this is the most helpful response I have ever had on a forum.  Id buy you a pint if you were closer!

My home is 5500 Sq foot.

I do have a pool house though and have Ethernet wired out there so I usually ethernet and backhaul that.  Theres one satellite that maybe close to teh 30 foot if you take away the fact its on another floor of the house....its close though

Ill draw a crude map and post

Ok I would start with just two RBS and the RBR at first. I have a 5000sq ft home two stories and basement. Most of the time I use only 1 RBS thas wired in the basement. Coverage is good over all. I set up the 2nd RBS if needed for additional testing here and there...
