RBR750 wired connection is slower than wifi
I don't understand what is going on. I have spectrum internet and the download speed test going into my router is 490 - 500mbps. The wifi connection on my phone - laptop - and iMac is around 400mbps....

No. This is not an issue with "older Orbi products". Users who subscribe to gigabit ISP service regularly report download speeds of 900+ megabits/second. (It is physically impossible to achieve a full gigabit because there is overhead inherent in Ethernet transmission which consumes a portion of the theoretical bandwidth.)
Changing cables and trying different computers are the two steps typically recommended. (also changing which Ethernet port is being used).
It sounds like the reported speed is not consistent for a specific computer. Is that what is being observed?

No the problem is consistent with each computer I try. Anything done wireless is fat around 400mbps. and anything done wired is less than 95mbps. I even tried hooking direct out of the orbi without a switch or anything to interfere. That method got me the 95mbps. Seems like an output problem with the orbi

Check with a different wired PC to see if same thing happens.
Check the connect rate on the PC and on the RBRs web page under Advanced/Show Stats tab to see if the connection rate on the LAN port on the RBR shows 100Mpbs or 1000Mpbs. Should be 1000Mbps.
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended. - CrimpOnNov 18, 2024Guru - Experienced User
A speed between 90 and 100 megabits is a highly suspect result. (whereas even 101 megabits would not be.)
For a long time, Ethernet hardware modules included in computers, laptops, switches, modems, and routers have included a feature called auto-negotiation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonegotiation
This is part of the actual electronics module.
One way to check for this is to open the Orbi web interface, select the Advanced Tab, and open the Show Statistics screen. This will display the data rate that the Orbi has negotiated with each of the Ethernet ports (WAN and LAN).
If it reports "1000M/Full", that means gigabit Ethernet. If it reports "100M/Full", that indicates only 100 megabits.
The most common cause for negotiating 100M/Full rather than 1000M/Full is a problem with the cable. It might have been kinked or stretched. One of the RJ45 connectors may not be making good contact. Or, the RJ45 jack on the modem or the router could not be making good contact on all 8 wires. (gigabit Ethernet requires all four "pairs" of wire. 100 megabit requires only two pairs.)

I checked the status on the Orbi web page and it states, 1000M/Full.
The firmware currently loaded on the Orbi is v7.2.6.31
The modem supplied by spectrum is
Model ET2251
DOCSIS 3,1 eMTA
I can not find the brand name anywhere
I tried looking online and it may be manufactured by Hitron
