RBR750 wired connection is slower than wifi
I don't understand what is going on. I have spectrum internet and the download speed test going into my router is 490 - 500mbps. The wifi connection on my phone - laptop - and iMac is around 400mbps....
No. This is not an issue with "older Orbi products". Users who subscribe to gigabit ISP service regularly report download speeds of 900+ megabits/second. (It is physically impossible to achieve a full gigabit because there is overhead inherent in Ethernet transmission which consumes a portion of the theoretical bandwidth.)
Changing cables and trying different computers are the two steps typically recommended. (also changing which Ethernet port is being used).
It sounds like the reported speed is not consistent for a specific computer. Is that what is being observed?
No the problem is consistent with each computer I try. Anything done wireless is fat around 400mbps. and anything done wired is less than 95mbps. I even tried hooking direct out of the orbi without a switch or anything to interfere. That method got me the 95mbps. Seems like an output problem with the orbi
