Unless you are sure of the compatibility with your existing Orbi router, I do not recommend to buy expensive Routers when it comes to market 1st time! I thought I have the top on the line best Orbi Router RBR840 (same as RBK842) in the world covering nearly 5000 Sq. Ft. Unfortunately, the WiFi signal for 2.4 GHz is so week, my $300 RainBird Controller module does not pick up even at 100 Ft distance from the main router !!!! I have not found RainBird controller that works on 5GHz. Tried to call Orbi specialist multiple times, even bought another expensive outdoor Satilite RBS50Y for $300 to boost the signal. Orbi specialist could not even configure to the existing network. Need additional Satilite or Signal Booster for 2.4 GHz for the existing RBR840 router set. No one is able to help to resolve this issue even after spending > 10 hrs of my time !!!!

This problem introduces a separate issue that forum participants are not likely to notice because of the heading on the original post. There is a good chance that someone will have suggestions if you start a new discussion with a different subject heading. It will help if you identify the model of Rainbird irrigation controller, provide more specifics about the physical layout, and describe "where it fails." Is it the initial setup? Can the controller be set up in the house, but then does not connect when moved outside?
