What impractical cabling is preventing Senario #3?
Your switch you have maybe a factor, thought its non managed, it has green ethernet features which causes problems for Orbi systems:https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/small-business-100-series-unmanaged-switches/datasheet_C78-582017.html
We've seen issues before with users switches having green ethernet.
Any chance you have a different switch with out Green Ethernet features?

You should connect an ethernet cable from the routers LAN port to the LAN port on the satellite directly for a wired backhaul, not indirectly to a switch.

Thank you for your feedback.
Are you sure?
According to this KB article:
it should be possible to have a switch in between.

What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
Some managed or green ethernet switches have problems with Orbi systems.
What happens if you LAN wired connect the RBS to the RBR using this configuration?
ISP Modem>RBR(AP mode, WAN port to Modem LAN port)>Switch(RBR LAN port to Switch LAN port)<>RBS
Please test the RBS directly connected to the RBR with out the switch to see if it appears in the attached devices screen.
There is a known issue of having the RBR connected to a host router and the RBS connected thru a switch to the host router and not directly to the RBR. This happens as well with Orbi AC.
