RBR850 / RBS850 Firmware Version 3.2.17.12
RBK852 - currently at Firmware Version V3.2.16.22 (both Router & Satellite)
Checked for updates via Advanced/Administration and get "No New Firmware Available" response.
Since I see that v3.2.17.12 has been out for a few months, should I perform a Manual Update in spite of the warning to the contrary,
or is there something else I should try before doing so?

v12 is only availalble for manual download. NG did not make it avaialble on there update servers.
Do we know why they chose not to make it available through their upgrade servers? Is this newer version not a stable release?
NG doesn't provide details on why they don't make things avaialble. You can manually update. Manually updating is fine. Side some having DNS issues which seems to be for some, in other versions of FW, v12 is stable for the most part. If your system is working, then you can choose to keep what you have loaded currently and wait for the next version to appear.
