Yes, prior backup configurations can re-introduce issues. Why it's best to FR and setup from scratch after newer FW has been applied. Then after it's all setup, save off a new backup configuration to file.

I'm saving that for a last resort since I have multiple static ip addresses setup and it would be chaos to redo. The firmware is the latest that came out in April but this issue started last month June

I believe the only way to resolve this is thru a FR.
Also please keep on had a back up configuration. Saves time if a FR is needed.

Update. I managed to get in with just enough time to back up my settings without getting the error. This morning, I reset to factory. Everything was back in working order, but as soon as I applied the backed up settings, it started doing the same thing. I reset one more time, and reconfigured everything manually. My guess is I had a certain setup that did not agree with the latest update and just froze the router.
Hopefully, this will help someone having the same issues.
