RBR850 Can't get internet from Xfinity xFi Gateway
Hi, I've spent about 9 hours on this today, so really hoping someone here has some ideas to break the logjam! I've got an RBR850 and 5 RBS850's. FW 7.2.6.31. I've been using them for a few years ...

Has anyone tried a stand along modem? XF supports BYOM so would be an alternative and something to try. ISP Gateways can be problematic with external WiFi router systems. I now that others have used NG CM series modems with this ISP and they work well.

It sounds like replacing the RBR850 fixed the problem. I assume you are not in warranty period to get it replaced, but you bought another 850 anyway.
FWIW I have a NG CM3000 FURRYe38 and it works great, but the XB8 (bridge mode) -> 850 seems necessary to avoid being charged for going over the data cap (this doesn't exist in the northeast, but does everywhere else in the country with Comcast).
So it sounds like problem solved now with new 850? Or are there other outstanding issues still?

No other outstanding issues. Just very odd that everything was working completely fine until exactly the moment I tried to switch modems, then suddenly the 850 can't get internet from the modem it was previously working fine with, but a replacement 850 works fine.
Who knows. One of those things I just don't have additional time or energy or enough knowledge to continue looking into.

What is the brand and model# of the new modem?
Did you power OFF both modem and RBR for 30 seconds, then back ON with the modem first, then 30 seconds later, power ON the RBR?

It's the XB8 from Xfinity. Tried as many combinations of restarting, factory resetting, etc as you can imagine over dozens of attempts. Lots of info in the thread above about it all.
