Did you downgrade the RBS first then RBR lastly after applying v.21 FW?
How is the RBR connected to the host router?
What is the brand and model# of the host router the RBR is connected too?
Does the RBR front LED turn PINK or WHITE when this happens?
How is AP mode configured on the RBR? Dynamic or Static. I prefer Static.
Have tested my 850 series many times in AP mode on v.21 with out issues.
I currently dont have a RBS connected, I also reset the RBR after downgrading
The router is a BT business hub (latest version), bridge mode isnt available with current firmware so I have the RBR running in AP mode
I dont know about the lights because the RBR was in a different room when I was trying to get it working but in the logs its says internet connected/disconected every minute, give or take a second (I presume the time taken to write to the log) its exactly one minute
I have tried both static and dynamic
Try putting the RBR in router mode and set the IP address it gets from the ISP modem into the modems DMZ or IP-passthru to see if you see disconnections continue.
If the logs are showing disconnect and re-connect, means the ISP modem maybe having problems and the RBR is seeing the result of it. This would show as PINK on the RBR front LED.

Please try installing the latest released firmware for the RBR860 firmware version 7.2.7.15 to resolve this issue.
