RBR850 VPN not connecting to Iphone/Ipads
I have the AX6000 mesh wifi kit with RBR850 Hub and 2 satellites.
The Orbi is behind my Internet router(which has a fixed IP) in my home network.
I am trying to setup the VPN so I can connect to my internal and external network through the VPN connection when away from home.
I have installed the Open VPN on Iphone and downloaded the file to my Iphone but it will NOT connect.
I have setup port forwarding on my internet router to the Orbi for the 2 ports listed...
When the Orbi creates the OpenVPN configuration it looks like it point to my main router IP and not my IP from my Internet router ??
What am I missing ?

You have discovered the solution. Edit the configuration file and replace the IP of the Orbi router with the IP of the internet router
When the Orbi generates configuration files, it is programmed to use the IP of its WAN interface. This is one of the special situations which is affected when a user has "two routers" (often referred to as a "Double NAT" because the first router hides all devices connected to it behind Network Address Translation and the second router then does the same thing with devices connected to it). Other applications that are affected are things like sharing media files on the internet and certain types of internet gaming.
The typical recommendation is to remove the Double NAT by
- Placing the internet router in "bridge" or "pass-through" mode.
- Placing the Orbi router in Access Point (AP) mode.
- Placing the Orbi router in the internet router DMZ.
Putting the Orbi into AP mode will not work in this solution because OpenVPN is not available in AP mode.
The easiest solution in this specific situation is to manually change the configuration files.
