RBR850 with RBSE960
My main ORBI router is the 850 model with another 850 Satellite. I have another Satellite RBSE960 and I was able to connect it to the main router as another Satellite. I'm able to connect to it and...
The connection between the 960 and 850 is via wi-fi, I just added a satellite and it worked.

Thanks for the screen shot. From my perspective, it appears that Netgear's compatibility information deserves another footnote.
(who knows, maybe the 850 satellite is also 'compatible' with the 960 router as well? - except for the obvious feature differences.)
The only issue I have is that I cannot update the SSID of the 960 to be the same as the 850
