RBR850/RBS850 Firmware Downgrade Issue
Hi… I’ve been struggling with the dreaded v7.2.6.31 firmware issues, and finally decided to do the downgrade to the previous *.21 firmware. I downloaded the required RBR and RBS firmwares, then discon...

http://orbilogin.net or http://orbilogin.com works only on the router.
Suggestion:
- Disconnect the router WAN port from the internet.
- Power up all three Orbi's (router and satellites)
- Once they are "up", use the Attached Devices page to learn the IP address of each satellite.
- Connect to the web home page of each satellite and select the menu item Firmware Update
- After doing the satellites, connect to the router and navigate to the Advanced Tab, Administration, Firmware Update page and select the Manual tab. Then use the part of the page "above the line" to manually update the router firmware.
- After the router reboots, navigate to the page where you can disable Automatic Firmware Updates.
- Finally, reconnect the internet.

Thanks CrimpOn. When I go to the Satellite web home page, should I still be trying to do that via direct Ethernet connection (as I have read on here) or are you suggesting doing it over wifi?
- Gpsydney33Oct 24, 2024AspirantI managed to get through the steps above using ethernet at each satellite then the router and everything is now up and working. The true test will be if we can get through a few days/weeks without the pink light/dropped internet, but I’m optimistic! Thanks CrimpOn.

FW updates can be manually applied via ethernet or wireless if the wireless PC or laptop is close to the RBR/RBS. Ethernet is always preferred.
Let us know how it turned out.

I successfully did the downgrade last week (from *.31 to *.21) and thought that would solve my constant pink light outages, but unfortunately this morning I got another one. I checked on my phone to confirm if there was a known issue with my ISP but there wasn’t, and pulling the power plug from my RBR850 for 20 seconds and powering back on brought me back online… no need to touch my NBN FTTP gigabit modem. Any thoughts on what might be the problem? I have heard about some people still having problems on *.21 firmware. Do you think it’s that or is my hardware stuffed?- CrimpOnOct 28, 2024Guru
After downgrading the firmware, did you set the "Automatic Firmware Update" setting to Disabled?
