RBRE960 should wifi channels be set to AUTO, mine are set to specific channels
Hi. What are the thoughts on WIFI channel settings for the main wifi, mine is set to Channel 1 for 2.4, Channel 40 for 5.0 and 69 for the 6.0.
I notice at least for the 2.4 you can set this to AUTO. Would this be a recommended setting, for the others I guess its monitor and see if there are any challenges from neighbour networks and adjust accordingly - its a little surprising there is no auto on these channels though.
I am running the IOT VLAN with both 2.4 and 5.0 enabled.
thanks for your thoughts.
I would set the 2.4ghz to auto and leave the rest (for the most part). You can use a scanner to see how congested the other channels are but 5/6ghz all travel shorter distance and don't penetrate objects as well. so they tend to suffer from less interference. I can see around 35 2.4ghz signals in my area but zero 6ghz broadcasters when I scan. And I know there are some because I know my neighbors setup (helped set it up).
