RBRE960 Standalone - No 5Ghz-2

Afternoon folks,

I've just bought a standalone RBRE960 Wifi 6E as I was looking for something with Quad Band and that could take more wifi clients, to upgrade from my RAX200.

However I dont seem to be able to set it up to have the 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz-1 and 5Ghz-2 bands that I had on my RAX200. Is there a reason for this? It was on Amazon as a Quad Band router and got decent reviews for speed and seems to be able to take up to 200 clients. So it seemed like a decent deal at £181. However it doesnt seem to be true Quad Band and unless I have the settings wrong I cant have my fastest non 6ghz clients attached to the 5ghz-2 band that I previously used on my RAX200 for all my fastest items and kept the 5ghz-1 for the slower items due to it being lower channels and had my cameras and items which cant connect to 5ghz on the 2.4ghz.

Is there no way to do that with this router? And is there no 5ghz-2 band at all? If thats the case it seems to be completely wrong in how it is advertised and sold. I understand the 5ghz-2 band not being available if I'm using this for Wireless backhaul, but surely it would make sense to have it open if you are using it with a Wired backhaul or just as a standalone and if you are selling it as standalone and selling it as a "Quad Band" router then it needs to have the 4 bands available to be used doesnt it?

I'd like to confirm these issues before I just get it returned to Amazon as its being sold as Quad Band when in comparison to every other Quad Band router, it actually isnt Quad at all.

Not with MESH systems. Orbi is a MESH system. RAX is a stand alone router which supports seperate SSIDs.

You can use the IoT network on Orbi systems for some seperate networks is all.

So it is actually only a triband router as the quad band is completely locked out of use for the user and there is no way to separate the bands? Who thought that was a good idea, considering its open for other routers by Netgear, not something I even considered that they wouldnt allow me to choose which band my clients connect to. Seems completely disingenuous to sell it as a Standalone Quad Band Router. Back to the drawing board, or online shopping.

      Thanks for the reply though.

Been like this for a long time. Nothing disingenuous about it. Orbi MESH is NOT a stand alone system. How MESH systems work. Again they differ from Stand alone routers.

If you need separate SSID networks, then keep with stand alone routers.

Orbi MESH offers separate IoT network for those devices only.

        Good Luck.
