RBS750 intermittent light colors and backhaul connection
I have a RBR750 and RBS750 that I am trying to redeploy in AP mode. The RBR750 is working fine (wifi and ethernet ports) but I can't get the RBS750 to be stable. It is typically showing a magenta f...

That would be a cause. Glad you figured it out.
Yes since the RBR has it's own firewall and would be on a different sub net.
DMZ is to help with a double NAT condition when having two routers on the same line. DMZ just allows all traffic thru the 1st router to pass thru to the 2nd router. And since the 2nd router has a firewall, this allows two routers to be on same line while functioning independently.

Thanks. The host router (UDR) *is* giving the RBS an IP address (while RBR is in AP mode), but I figured out I have some firewall rules that are preventing them from talking to each other (setting these up on a guest vlan, with 'device isolation' turned on). When I turn those rules off the RBR/RBS work in AP mode - however I'm losing my desired firewall rules. I'll try to create some that let the RBR and RBS talk back and forth while preserving the other rules.
If I leave the RBR in router mode, it should work ok - I would just lose visibility (and control) of client devices logged into the Orbi system from the host router? Anything else?
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "set up the DMZ on the host router". What type of rule/setting would that be?
