RBS850 Network extension/backhaul via Ethernet without direct attachment to the router.

I think it may be helpful to some to clarify a point about Ethernet Backhaul using the RBS850 Satellite.

The informational publications provided by Netgear seem to imply that in order to use an Ethernet cable to extend the reach of the system, it must be connected [implied: directly] to the router.  I have found that this is not the case.

Today I added a third satellite to my system and had no option but to connect it via a switch to reach a detached garage about 40 feet from the house.  It works like a charm in terms of download speed - I achieved over 350 mb/sec in that remote location (vs. 50mb/sec without the additional satellite) through a Linksys 8-port Gigabit switch, from another RBS850 satellite about 60 feet away.  Upload speed suffered somewhat compared to the satellite inside the house, but was still in the 10mb/sec range which is quite satisfactory for our purposes in that remote location.

Just thought that someone might benefit from sharing this experience.
