RBS850 No Devices Connect when Hardwire Backhauled

I have a RBR850 and 2 RBS850s and I created a hardware backhaul network for the RBD850s but whenever one of the satellites is connected via the backhaul network no devices will connect to them wirelessly. I have connected directly to them via their local web interfaces and the both 2.4 and 5Ghz show enabled and active. If I hardwire into the ports on the the satellites traffic flows fine through them and performance is great. The minute I disconnect the hardware backhaul from either of the satellites my local wireless devices will connect just fine and show properly in the admin interface as being connected via that satellite. It does not matter if one or both are hardwired, which ever units are hardwired, my wireless devices will no longer connect to them or are no longer being reported as connected via them.

The router and satellites are all on v4.6.8.5 of the firmware. And yes this was happening on the previous version of the firmware.

So either something is seriously broken on the Orbi's with regards to hardwired backhaul or the orbi portal is displaying incorrect information about which router devices are connected through when they connect through a satellite that is hardwired.

Either way this is serious bug.

  • Do the wireless devices that are connected to the satellites appear instead to be hardwired to the router?

  • How are the RBS connected to the RBR via ethernet? Directly to the back of the RBR or is there a LAN switch in between them?
What CAT# lan cable are you using? CAT6 is recommended.
What is the Mfr and model# of the ethernet switch in the configuration if your using one?

Did you first sync the RBS to the RBR then afterwards, connect the RBS to the RBR via ethernet?
