Re: New - RBK653 Firmware Version 7.2.6.31 Released
Seeing another FW version 7.2.6.31 being released, does not give me the feeling that we will soon see a successor for the already existing (for some of us problematic) FW version 7.2.6.31 for the oth...

This FW is only for the 650 series SKU. Bring the RBS350s up to date to support v7 FW thats on the RBR750 series.
There was a recent FW update for the 40 and 50 series that seems being pushed by NG auto update for that series. Has not been put up on the NG download site yet.

Thanks.
By the way, I meant to say RBK850, not RBK50. Don't think there is an auto update for this model.

Netgear is able to 'push' a firmware update for every Orbi model, and in the past they have done so for the RBK50.

There is AU for all Orbi systems. NG did implement control over that on the 750, 850 and 960 series and beyond that users can disable AU.
FYI, v.21 FW is most stable for the AX and AXE series of systems. I would avoid v.31.

This is correct. After so many customers complained (very loudly) about automatic firmware updates, Netgear did include a feature in newer models to allow the user to enable or disable the router automatically updating when new firmware becomes available. (Microsoft Windows 11 has a similar feature.) However, "things change". Netgear retains the ability to push an upgrade no matter what option the user may or may not have selected. The only way to totally prevent the router from updating is to go upstream of the Orbi and block access to several Netgear web sites.

No if the AU is disable, NG can't push. Only when AU is enabled, the push can come thru.
