Re: Orbi RBS750 Firmware Update When Satellite Won't Synch
I spend a lot of time on this issue with my new Satellite. I believe my mistakes were: Did not take other Satellites offline when adding the new Satellite Did not bring the Satellite to the same ...

I added a new alien RBS850 to my existing RBK853 last year. System was already at v.21.
I don't rmemeber exactly the FW that was on the incoming RBS. I believe I did have the RBR online alone with all other RBS turned OFF. Same room with incoming RBS. I believe I let the incoming RBS come to it's ready state and ya, did didn't auto connect. I believe I then pressed the sync button on the RBS and then used the Add Satellite feature on the RBR web page and I believe it did sync for me. I was able to then access it web page long enough to get the new v.21 FW loaded and applied.
Another option to try is to ethernet connect the RBS to the back of the RBR and see if the RBS gets an IP address. Usually it will and you can log into it then using RBR log in or admin/password. Then manually update.
Another option to check is wire connect 1 PC to the back of the RBS. Factory reset the RBS, wait about 5 minutes. The PC will get a IP address from the satellite📡. The RBS will be 192.168.1.250 for Orbi AC/192.168.10.250 for Orbi AX. Use this IP address in a web browser to log in to the satellites web page. Log in as admin and password. Use the satellites 📡 web page FW update feature to select the FW update file that was unpacked from the .zip file. Then factory reset and then re-sync the satellites 📡 to the RBR.
You don't need to factory reset or change the default IP address pool range for this.
Sounds like worse case method though that NMRP option worked. Good to know.
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
