Router won’t connect to verified internet connectio

    What happens if you power OFF The RBR and RBS for 1 minute, then back on with the RBR first, then about 30 seconds later, power ON one RBS at a time. Does the RBS connect and show up in the WEB UI? Might bring the RBS to same room as RBR to check this...
    Do they appear in Orbi app at all? 

     

    If they don't, you might disconnect the RBR from the ISP service. 
    Change the RBR back to 192.168.1.1 and apply the change and let the system reboot. May need to power cycle the RBS as well here. Then give about 10 minutes, check the RBRs web page for RBS. They should appear in the WEB UI. If they do either change the RBR back to 192.168.4.1 or try 192.168.0.1. I've always used .0.1 and everything has worked on this submet.

    So, after 6 calls and 2 visits to ISP tech support, they finally made a remote config change to the Callix GPN/modem, and my Orbi RBR660 router is now connected to the internet and working properly. During one of the calls, they asked me to change the Orbi router address to 192.168.4.1, and the IP range to 192.168.4.2 - 192.168.4.254, presumably to avoid any IP conflict issues. Now, I can't seem to connect either of the RBS satellites to the router. I go through the spin up process, and both show the steady blue light for three minutes, but they don't show up on the Attached Devices page of the orbi admin panel, and all of the attached devices, even when they are far from router and closer to satellite, show that they are connected to the main router. Could it be that by changing the router IP to 4.1 from default 2.1, the satellites no longer connect? Should I set the router IP back to 2.1? Please advise as I am so close to having this resolved after many, many hours of troubleshooting.

    I tried one more thing: I turned off wifi on my computer and connected it to the satellite via ethernet. When I went to the orbi admin panel (192.168.4.1), it showed me all of the same info on the router, meaning that the satellite is connected to the router via wifi and acting as a bridge, but I still don't see its Mac address or satellite IP on the Attached Devices page (as per the screenshot on the previous screen). Any ideas on this?

    Thanks - will change to 1.1 after trying the power cycles as you suggest as I don’t think the issue with the ISP had anything to do with the subnet - am fairly confident that it was some strange configuration they had on my particular modem/GPON, as I took the RBR to another location with network also powered by same ISP, and it connected to internet without issue, and I believe they saw the settings on their modem in the second location and updated the settings on their modem in my home/original location. So will do following:

     

    1) power cycles

    2) change to 1.1 while not been connected to ISP

    3) power cycle the RBSs 1 by 1

    4) if they connect, will connect back to ISP on 1.1 to see if there are any issues

    5) if issues, will try 0.1

    p.s: the Orbi app and Orbi browser-based admin give conflicting instructions on how to connect satellites, which added to the confusion all day today as I tried to sync the RBSs

    The first power cycle approach worked! Now both satellites show up, and are even auto daisy-chained as main router is in one end of house, and needed to extend network to their end of house. There’s a bit of loss for devices connected to the second satellite, but totally acceptable. Thanks again for all of your help!
