Satellites are not showing devices connected
I'm using an RBR850 and have one RBS850 and two RBS750s, but devices only show up on my 800 series units. I know the RBS750s are making a difference because as soon as I unplug them, I lose respecti...

The RBR850 is v4.6.9.11
The RBS850 is v4.6.9.11
The RBS750s are running v 7.2.6.31
I have one satellite hard wired the others wireless.

The RBR and ALL RBS need to be on same FW version level.

FURRYe38 is correct. For some (unknown) reason, the AX series of Orbis struggle when the router and satellite are on different firmware releases. Connected devices do not seem to be affected because the Orbi router creates one "Layer 2" network and data packets can flow wherever they need to. What seems to be most affected is the ability of the router to display information about what is connected to the satellites.
There are basically two choices:
- Manually install firmware v4.6.9.11 on the two RBS750 satellites.
- Upgrade the 850 units to v7.2.6.31 (satellites first, then router).
This is not a trivial decision. The "7" firmware introduced a new WiFi network: the "IoT" network, which customers had been asking for (good), but the forum has a number of very long discussions where users are not happy with v7.2.6.31 and have "gone back" to v7.2.6.21 (bad). Frankly, it's a mess.
Or, you can leave it alone and try to ignore not knowing exactly what is connected.

I recommend downgrading the RBS at are at .31 back to v.21, then update the rest of the RBS to save v.21 version, then do same on the RBR lastly. After v.21 is applied on the RBR, be sure to disable auto update check on the RBR to prevent the system from being updated to v.31.
Been many posts about v.31 not being good so we don't recommend that version. v.21 is most stable to date FW.- scramblurJan 14, 2025Aspirant
So am I correct that my devices are using these satellites and the firmware is preventing me from seeing it or will I have other issues not addressing this firmware gap?
Finally, this system is new purchase... did I make a mistake? Should I have moved to something more modern?
