SOLVED!! Can Now Access Disney+ Thru Orbi Routers
Whew. After months of debugging and zero help from Disney, I found an insignificant, buried thread on this forum that helped me figure out why I could not access Disney+ via my Orbi router nodes.
Here were the symptoms:
- I could access D+ from my cell connection on my phone
- I could NOT access D+ via wifi on my phone or TVs
- I could not access D+ from a wired connection to my TVs
- I would get the D+ splash screen, and the list of users. When I clicked on any of the users, I would get the dreaded error code 73 (bad region)
Here is the answer: the culprit is IPv6.
- Go to your Orbi router and login
- Click on the Advanced tab
- On the left Nav, click on Advanced
- Click on IPv6
- In the body, change the following settings to:
- Internet Connection Type: DHCP
- IP Address Assignment: Use DHCP Server
- Then save it!
Just be safe (and paranoid), I then went to the Apps section of my TV and cleared the cache, the data, uninstalled the updates, and even force-stopped the app. AND, I unplugged the TV for 2 minutes and replugged it back in. All of this I had done previously without the IPv6 changes and no-change.
The TV re-logged me in, did the app update, and... it worked! Whew.
Hope this works for you!
Or users can disable IPv6 on the system. I don't use IPv6 and Disney works here.
Maybe a IPv6 DNS issue as well. Something to try a custom IPv6 DNS service as well, like cloudfare or quad9.
