Thanks for the information. There have been documented situations where devices which could only connect to 2.4G WiFi were difficult to connect to Orbi systems because the smartphone app was poorly written and refused to proceed when the smartphone was connected at 5G.
That does not seem to be the issue here:
- Both the Chromecast and Sonos support both 2.4G and 5G WiFi.
- In the case of the Chromecast, although the typical setup process uses the Google Home smartphone app, it is possible to perform the setup without using the smartphone at all. The Chromecast is connected to the television with an HDMI cable and the Chromecast remote is used to perform the WiFi setup and configuration.

My Sonos One speaker is connected at 5G to an older WiFi5 model Orbi (RBR50). I do not have this particular model of Chromecast. Will look in my "Box of Stuff" to find the Chromecast I bought back in 2021.
