My use case is that I have Starlink, but I want to use Netgear Orbi for my WIFI mesh. Ideally I'd also like Netgear to act as a router and only have to configure everything in one place.
Please could someone confirm:
- Can you plug the Starlink Ethernet adapter (coming from the v2 rectangular starlink dish), directly into the Orbi? If so, how is this configured?
- If the above isn't correct...I've seen lots of people say the only way they got it working was to keep the Starlink router, put it in bypass mode and then stick a gigabit switch inbetween the Starlink router (bypass) and the Orbi mesh router? Is that right? If this is true, was any configuration on the switch required, or just default plug-and-play?
The reason I'm posting this is, is that I'm due to get the Orbi mesh wifi devices this week and I need to ready to set it up as soon as it arrives. I also thought it would be useful to have a 2023 post addressing this common issue.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
