Still connection loses and buffer overflows
In the meantime I've almost got used to the fact that the WiFi disappears for a few minutes every evening, only to return after what feels like an eternity. The fact that I reset the devices to the ...

Thanks for the info. This Sagecom is a gateway modem. Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktopI would recommend configuring option #2 for the RBR to ensure it has a good connection to the internet thru this modem.
Hopefully the suggestions witll help as well.
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite 📡
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set CTS to 2347. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s). Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

I've answered all of these questions so many times that I won't do it again now. Of course, I always make sure to have the latest firmware on all my devices and my satellites are connected to the router via cable.
My internet provider doesn't play a role here, as I said I have already used several manufacturers and the effect that the internet is not available for a few minutes every day only occurs now with Netgear.
After everything I have experienced so far, I am very sure that there is a buffer overflow somewhere and that it should finally be eliminated.
| Hardwareversion | RBR850 |
| Firmwareversion | V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 |
| GUI Sprachversion: | V3.0.1.2_2.1.30.3 |
| Operation Mode | Router |
As you see I have followed your advice and also changed to channel 48 for 5GHz. 2.4 I still use auto.
Best,
Klaus

Yes, ISP modems can be a factor in seeing some problems. Why we ask this question to better get a idea of what is at the head of the RBR. Please let us know what brand and model the ISP modem is.
Others have reporting having many odd issues with the current released version of FW. You can try this and see if this helps any:
It's only for the RBR. I have it loaded on mine currently and not seeing any problems since I loaded in 10 days ago.
Someone posted this as well for both RBR and RBS. I have not had a chance to load and try it out yet:

Since there is unfortunately no fiber optic cable in my street, I use a gigabit connection via my cable provider. He made the SAGEMCOM F @ ST3890 V3 BBN available to me. I deactivated the built-in WLAN and only use this device as a converter from antenna cable to Ethernet, as well as for landline telephones. The reliability of the cable provider is very high and I have a problem with it once every three to six months on average. As a rule, this is easy to find out because the WiFi signal is strong but no internet works. A restart of the SAGEMCOM is then sufficient to fix the problem.
With regard to my ORBI RBR850 problem, the system has actually been running without a single dropout since I made the suggested adjustments. Thank you for the valuable information!
I am now curious whether something will change in this situation after 6-8 weeks, that was always the critical mark for a reset to the factory settings.
