Sub network with an Orbi RBS350

Hello All,

I'd need to benefit from your knowledge and experience for my project with a RBS350:

  • i have a house with the WiFi router from my ISP, which bring a good coverage
  • For another house in the same property that i occasionnally rent, i use the RBS350 to extend the coverage. The Orbi is conencted to the Router in WiFi and it globally works

Is it possible to create 2 distinct networks sharing the same internet access, with a 'sub network' on the orbi containing only the 2nd house devices (guests computers, speakers, TV, guest internet... ), while the devices in the 'main' house are connected only on the ISP router ?

Many thanks for your support and expertise,

No, All RBS require connecting to a Orbi RBR unit. The main host router for Orbi. RBS won't connect or operate correctly otherwise.

  • If you connect the RBR350 in router mode behind the ISP wifi router, this creates a separate subnet behind the ISP router.
