Yes. Factory Resetting the satellite and connecting it to the existing Orbi router will set the WiFi credentials on the additional satellite to match the Orbi router settings. The "default" WiFi settings that were put in at the factory when the satellite was part of a set will disappear.
How is this satellite connected to the Orbi router? Is it:
- Connecting using WiFi?
- Or, is it 'wired' to the router?
(If it is 'wired', is it connected to one of the LAN ports on the back of the router, or is it connected in some other manner? switches? in-wall wiring? etc.)
- LSCOTTJ71Apr 22, 2024AspirantThank you for verifying the satellite’s preprogrammed settings are cleared out after the reset.
Yes sir, the satellite is connected to the router via WiFi, the same fashion as the original satellite.
Thank you- CrimpOnApr 22, 2024Guru
Please describe the firmware release number running on the router and each satellite.
On the router web interface, this appears in the upper right of most web pages. The Firmware Update menu shows the current firmware on both router and satellites.
The Orbi 'app' describes firmware under "Details".

Router V4.6.14.3
Original satellite also. V4.6.14.3
New satellite V3.2.15.30
And there in lies a potential problem. The new satellite states there is an update available. I ran it and it says update successful, however it is not successful as it has not updated
