Does the front LED turn PINK when this happens?
How was the system updated? Manually with RBS updated first then RBR lastly?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
If your ISP ONT has a built in router, This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
Try option #2 first...
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last v7 FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

I still have WiFi access and can connect to the router and perform and Internet test and it recovers, the other option, which is quicker if I’m nearer the router is to unplug the cable between the RBR750 and the fibre optic router it’s connected to.
Downgrading to 4.6.14.3, seems to have solve the problem as well.
Annoyingly when calling Netgear the call keeps dropping, is there another way to report this defect, I’m not going to pay for a support contract for a bug they’ve introduced and I can remedy with a downgrade.

Yes

In March manually, don’t remember Netgear support walked me through it.
Most recently to this version it was automatic update, I didn’t manually update the firmware.
Downgrade (disable updates, downgrade RBS then RBR)

Adtran SDX621i I’ve never needed to reboot this seems rock solid, especially with the older firmware on the RBR750

If this is the case then a firmware update should not cause the problem and a downgrade fixes it.

No I went through this process when I first got the RBR750 and was having this problem, it’s a lot of effort to go through, when it didn’t solve the problem before.

The PINK LED means the RBR has lost a connection to the ONT or ONT is not giving good services to the RBR.
A power OFF of the ONT and RBR is needed to check this.
A factory reset after any FW updates, IF problems are seen, needs to be performed to fully trouble shoot this. Seen is resolve many issues historically.
Do you have a 750 series or 850 series?

I don’t buy anything being wrong with the ONT, as I said a firmware downgrade resolves the problem. Removing the network cable and plugging it in again resolves the problem, running the Internet test in the webUI resolves the problem, so there’s clearly something the Orbi can do or is doing in the older firmware.
I will try the factory reset, I’m assuming I have to manually set it up afterwards. But that can wait till next year as I need this working right now with what I’m doing and the downgrade of the firmware has resolved my issue for now, just not ideal to be on an older version of the firmware.
NB I do not find it acceptable that a factory reset is required to get it to function correctly! There should be migration scripts that run on upgrade from older versions of the code to take care of such issues.
It’s a RBR750, now you ask, I may have posted on the wrong thread!
