This has started happening to me in the last 1~2 weeks.

since people have done hard resets, and imho wasted time, this feels like a bad firmware release, and or planned obsolesce to get people to upgrade to the new orbi 960 and spend another 1000~1500 on the latest and greatest hardware/software release.

 

my network works fine, but not having control over it, in the mgmt web ui or the mobile app is VERY concerning to me, and does NOT make me want to buy another netgear product. 

 

my Orbi RBR850 and two satellites are 2.5 ish years old, so no warranty for me...

  • You'll need to factory reset the RBR by pressing the Reset button for 15 seconds then release. Connect a wired PC to the back of the RBR and setup from scratch using a wired PC and web browser at HTTP and 192.168.1.1 or orbilogin.com and walk thru the setup wizard. Do not use the orbi app to set up the router. Just use a PC and web browser here.
