Unacceptable Orbi bug. Satellite Security set to none
Hi, I own a RBK850 and as many, I have an issue with Satellite's not getting their Wifi security conf properly. I tried AP mode, with/without wiring the units together. I also tried going back t...

I add this thread as well:
I would like to point out that this is a 1k euros product and this is just unbelievable that Netgear is not adressing this "Software fixable" issue.
BTW, I am returning mine as we speak and will tell all the bad I think about this product.

These issues were fixed by doing a factory reset and setup from scratch with the effected RBS and resyncing them.
There were other mitigating factors as well like this one:
So the system DOES work as intended.
Good Luck on your next endeavour.

Hi,
sorry but no... the system does not work at all as expected. How can you say that ?
I read about the "green switch" incompability. Well, on the box, Netgear should state what switch is compatible. It's random...
And anyway, I tried to switch back to WIFI backhaul, reset the satellite.. it did not solve it. I guess I should have resetted everything. But then you need to go back to AP, wired, and the problem comes back.
I even tried with direct wired connection to the router.
Anyway, this is major security breach, at least there should be an error making the satellite un-useable. But it should not worki in degraded unsecure mode without notice!!
I can't imagine how many people are running the system thinking it's all secured but having some Satellite showing no security at all.
Please be honest and admit this is unacceptable and Netgear should react before some-one actually sue them.

Something to contact NG support about this.
Good Luck then.

I imagined I would get such an answer ... when you see that this problem was reported several years ago with no action at all from netgear, what else should I expect ?
EDIT: "Something to contact NG support about this." -> you edited and I answered based on the message saying "good luck then" only.
I'll give it a shot..
