Using a non orbi wired access point with RBK852

I want to add a wireless access point into my network with the same SSID and password as my Orbi.

The device would be connected to my router Orbi via the appropriate cable but I am wondering if I am likely to have any conflicts with the Orbi wireless network.

Would I be better to buy another Orbi satelite?

Thanks in advance!!

  • If it was me, I'd buy another orbi. You can do as you're wanting but it won't integrate into your orbi system. Your AP should be using a different wireless channel for 2.4ghz/5ghz if its a separate AP (non orbi) to prevent interference.  Plus devices won't roam as efficiently as its not integrated.
