I've recently upgraded to BT FTTP and now have an Openreach ONT (Nokia version). I'm thinking of getting the Orbi AX4200 mesh system as the BT Smarthub 2 is even worse that the original Smarthub. I'm wondering if anyone knows if I'll be able to connect the Orbi router directly to the ONT and fully ditch the Smarthub or will I need to keep the Samrthub in the system?From what I've been reading I'm hoping I can conect the Orbi router directly to the ONT and just use PPPOE to enable access.

If there is a built in router at the ONT or modem, Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. Thanks Furry. It's a Nokia made fibre ONT only. No router in it, just modem type function.

I'd ask the ISP to see if the RBR can replace there router after the ONT. I presume it could.

So I've ordered the RBK753 and read somewhere that during initial setup, it's better to have the satalite units in the same room as the router unit and only place them where they'll stay after they've been recogognised and linked to the base unit. Is that the case?

Yes, I prefer having the RBS near the RBR or in same room.
