What’s the expected WiFi speed for RBR 750
I have a RBR750 and ATT 1000. Recent pings have gone up to 20 ms. Using firmware v7.2.6.31 My top download speed even next to the router is 700 but I’m usually at 285-300 throughout the house using...
So after performing the reset I started tinkering with the server destination in Speedtest. Knowing that speed is related to distance I changed test servers to a closer one and I can achieve rates of 700. This gives me confidence that the problem isn’t the router but with my testing methodology.

- The Speedtest App running on the iPhone measures at the iPhone.
- The Orbi web (or Orbi 'app') measures speed delivered by the ISP to the Orbi router.

Understanding that distance from the WiFi access point and building materials have an enormous effect on WiFi performance, if you are standing close to the 750 which is reporting a Speedtest of 980, then I would expect an iPhone 13 capable of WiFi6 to report significantly more than 280/350.
My ancient RBR50 and old Sony phone, neither of which support WiFi6 just measured 385 down on my Spectrum cable system, while the Orbi SpeedTest reported 484 down. They are 4 ft. apart. (Cable systems typically provide only a tiny upload speed.)
So, if I am getting 385 on a system that provides 484 to the router and both devices are capable of only WiFi5, then a WiFi6 Orbi that is receiving 980 down should be able to support well over 500 to an iPhone 13 Pro that is 4 ft. away from the router.
If this is not what is happening, then something is "not right".
- Thanks. That’s the logic that’s bouncing around my head. I think I will try the factory reset and see if that improves anything. When I was measuring I was about 4 feet from RBR. At my in-laws I was about 10 feet from the RBR.
