What should I believe is the actual connection speed?
I've got 2 860 sats that show as connected at 5Ghz and "good" in the attached devices table but the connection status stats shows the WLAN backhaul running at 2402M. What should I believe is the actu...
Link speed isn't the best test.
Your best test is to hardwire a pc/laptop into the satellite and do a speedtest on it and see what you get.
Years ago when I started testing mesh networks, I tested a ton of locations in my house. Surprisingly, sometimes a small lateral movement or moving further away can help avoid interference from objects in the walls or layout (think HVAC, metal fridges, etc). So its worth doing a little testing in different locations to see what works the best.
And I'd recommend the hardwired option so you aren't testing both the backhaul (router----sat) and the fronthaul (sat---->device).
